UT-Austin begins swift removal of remaining Confederate statues I was a personal friend of John H. Reagan's namesake and great great grandson until he passed back in 2006. I got to know him and his wonderful family well. They were so proud of their heritage and did their best to be a part of the many dedications in the Reagan name. To those of us whose knowledge of Texas history is not impaired by the media frenzy we see today, John H. Reagan was first and foremost an accomplished statesman and a giant in Texas history. Much like his progeny, he loved Texans and the great state of Texas. The removal of his statue is a great dishonor to his family, his state, and his name. He will be remembered long after the people behind this tyranny are gone and forgotten. Comments
